This type of fire is not "flueless" as some companies would have you believe with their "no chimney, no problem" marketing. The fire requires a sophisticated flue that uses natural convection to draw the air from outside the building for combustion and expels it back to the outside through a separate compartment of the flue. The fire requires this special twin tube flue system installing in the property. The major positive aspect of these fires is the efficiency is typically over 85% the major downside is the cost of buying the appliabnce and installing this along with the specialist flue system. As the fires are room sealed they have a glass front. So there is no loss of comfort and minimal fuel consumption. And because the fire is not open at the front it is much safer to use. A word of caution is that the glass front can get extremely hot and caution should be observed when installing these fires into homes with small children. If there is no chimney in your home, the flue can be fitted through an outside wall or through the roof.
